Interior work at distribution centre in Rochdale
Recently a UK Forks 17m telehandler had an unusual job - this time working inside!
The finishing touches are being put in place on a 616,000 sq ft distribution centre, one of the largest developed in the North West in the past ten years. Jet Environmental Systems Ltd hired the telehandler to place the airconditioning units into the roof trusses of the warehouse.

The photos above show the 17m telehandler lifting a cube air-con unit weighing 2100Kg with dimensions of 2.8m x 2.8m x 2.7m. It needed to be lifted to a height of 12.5m. A telehandler was the only option as it was far too large for conventional internal lifting equipment. The only modification needed, as the structure was ventilated enough for the standard diesel engine, were tyre covers to protect the new slab inside the warehousing unit.

The unit is fixed into place
As structures demand better performing air conditioning this size of unit will become more common and therefore more unusual methods of getting them where they need to be.
