Environmental Policy
We uphold a comprehensive environmental policy, a reflection of the company's aim to carry out its undertakings in such a manner so as to eliminate, or reduce to the lowest possible level, any actions that may lead to environmental damage.
We acknowledge that there is an important role to play in the promotion of sound environmental management of the earth’s resources and have a determination to achieve the highest environmental standards with our business. This responsibility has been formalised by ensuring that environmental issues are represented at executive and Board level and, further, that all employees are aware of the policy and their individual responsibilities.
Some key objectives within the policy are to:
- Ensure that all operational sites comply with the requirements of environmental legislation and approved codes of practice as well as company requirements.
- Ensure that all of our operations cause minimal visual impact nuisance to the public.
- Eliminate all polluting releases from our operating depots and where this is not entirely possible, the intermediate goal is reduction.
- Undertake comprehensive waste management programmes, and we strive to prevent waste, minimise waste, re-use, re-cycle and safely dispose of waste.
